tie it up

I love this – Prana has just created a new women’s hang tag made of 100% recycled paper that can also be used as a hair tie!  It’s just another example of Prana’s ongoing efforts to reuse, reduce and recycle their packaging.

the energy of your thought never dies

Thought is pure energy.  Every thought you have, have ever had, and ever will have is creative.  The energy of your thought never dies.  Ever.  It leaves your being and heads out into the universe, extending forever.  A thought is forever.

de-tox pea and basil soup

This recipe has been a staple over the past couple of weeks as I’ve been embarking on my cleanse (less than a week left to go!).  Two out of my three meals a day have to be liquid, so soup is on the menu many nights of the week.  And this one in particular just tastes so satisfying.  I really had no idea pea soup could be so simple and delicious!

1 tablespoon olive oil

3 cloves of garlic, finely chopped

1 yellow onion, chopped

1 bag of frozen peas

2 cups fresh basil

1 avocado

4 cups water

1. Saute the garlic and onion in the olive oil until cooked, apx. 5 – 8 minutes.

2. Add the peas and water and bring to a boil.  Reduce the heat and simmer until peas are fully cooked, apx. 7 minutes.

3. Add the basil and avocado and let cook for apx. 2-3 minutes.

4. Blend on the stove top using an immersion blender or blend in batches in a food processor.

5. Season with salt and pepper and enjoy!

If you aren’t following any kind of cleanse then make it pretty and garnish with a sprig of fresh mint and a drizzle of basil oil or creme fraiche!

the business of om

It’s a funny thing to think about some times, the business of yoga…  And there are moments when you can see the good and the bad but there is something very inspirational about these companies and entrepreneurs who are, at the end of the day, spreading peace and balance.  So how are they doing it?  How do they maintain their own personal balance as they seek profits and inner peace?  The Business Daily News recently published this article here which reveals how these 6 yoga-based companies are setting an example across what has become a booming industry. Their stories are great!  And how cool is it that Wanderlust was featured?!  Enjoy!

compassion and loving kindness

If we have the energy of compassion and loving kindness in us, the people around us will be influenced by our way of being and living.

another daydream

Nothing like a beautiful daydream to start the week of right…a place to go inside our heads when things start to go a little too fast.  All we have to do is close our eyes and breathe…
